My Family History

My grandfather was the son of an Irish immigrant. He grew up in a poor family, he was the only member of his family to go to high school. When he was very young his mother died. His step mother was very cruel, so when he was 16 he ran away from home and stowed away on a ship. He grew up on the open sea and became a sea captain and saw the world. In South America he went to Argentina where he met my grand mother. My grand mother was working as an English teacher. The fell in love and married soon after. They bought a ship and planned to fight pirates and smuggle emeralds from South America into the US. But then they had a daughter, my mother, and decided that a life of pirates and jewels was no way to raise a child. They sold the ship and bought a small blue berry farm in Maine.
